Eid Milad-un-Nabi Celebrated Nationwide; President Zardari and PM Shehbaz Call for Unity

Today, the nation is celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi with great religious fervor and enthusiasm, as President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called upon the people of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah to embrace the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a source of guidance during these challenging times.
In their separate messages on the blessed occasion of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, both leaders extended their heartfelt congratulations to the nation, emphasizing the importance of following the exemplary life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in fostering love, compassion, and unity.
President Zardari’s Message: President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message, highlighted the everlasting relevance of the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a beacon of guidance for humanity. He underscored the need to propagate the message of love and compassion taught by the Holy Prophet, particularly in today’s world, which faces division and oppression.
“Today, as the world confronts widespread division, it is imperative to spread the message of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which embodies love, tolerance, and human rights. His treatment of all individuals, irrespective of faith, with respect and dignity serves as a timeless lesson,” President Zardari said.
He further emphasized that Eid Milad-un-Nabi reminds Muslims of the transformative message brought by the Prophet (PBUH), which illuminated the world with the values of justice, compassion, and selflessness. The President encouraged the nation to embrace the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings by dedicating themselves to the welfare of humanity and incorporating these values into their daily lives.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Message: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his address to the nation, reiterated the importance of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) noble character and exemplary conduct, describing it as a guiding light for all of humanity. He urged the nation to reflect on the Prophet’s (PBUH) message of peace and compassion, particularly for the oppressed.
“On this auspicious day, we must remember our brothers and sisters in Palestine and Kashmir, who are enduring oppression and tyranny. It is our moral and religious duty to stand with them in solidarity,” Prime Minister Sharif stated.
Nationwide Celebrations: The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital, marking the commencement of Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. Provincial capitals followed with 21-gun salutes, including a ceremonial display in Lahore by a well-drilled unit of the Pakistan Army, where soldiers chanted “Takbeer, Allahu Akbar” in unison, creating a resonant atmosphere of devotion.
Special prayers were offered after Fajr, focusing on the promotion of Islam, as well as the unity, progress, and welfare of the country and the broader Muslim Ummah. Strict security measures were in place throughout the ceremonies to ensure a peaceful and safe environment.
Across the country, processions in celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi are set to take place, with participants paying homage to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and reflecting on the profound impact of his life and teachings on humanity.
