Erdogan Reaffirms Türkiye’s Stance Against Gender-Neutralization Policies at ‘Year of Family’ Launch
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the importance of protecting families and young generations from “harmful deviant ideologies” during the launch of the “Year of Family” promotion program in Ankara on Monday.
Addressing the event, President Erdogan expressed concern over gender-neutralization policies and their use of LGBT advocacy as a “battering ram” to undermine the family institution.
“These policies, consciously and deliberately promoted, threaten the sanctity of the family structure and community cohesion,” Erdogan said, highlighting that Türkiye is one of the few nations to openly challenge such ideologies on international platforms, including the United Nations General Assembly.
The president reiterated his government’s firm stance on the issue, stating, “The primary target of these gender-neutralization policies, where LGBT is utilized as a tool, is the family. Türkiye’s position on this matter is clear, and there will be no step back.”
Erdogan also stressed that strengthening family values is not only a national priority but also a collective responsibility of all nations to ensure the well-being of future generations.
The “Year of Family” initiative seeks to promote programs and policies aimed at reinforcing the family unit, with a particular focus on safeguarding children and youth.
