Baku, The Gulf Observer: With only two days remaining, preparations are in full swing for the launch of the 6th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, jointly organized by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The event, dedicated to the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”, will be held from August 3 to 9 in the city of Khankendi.

This year’s camp will bring together 128 young Azerbaijanis from 61 countries, alongside participants from friendly nations, marking another milestone in strengthening connections between Azerbaijan and its global diaspora. The opening ceremony will be attended by high-ranking government officials, renowned scholars, cultural figures, and prominent personalities from the arts and sciences.

During the camp, participants will receive comprehensive briefings on Azerbaijan’s diaspora policy under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. They will also have opportunities to interact with diplomats, government representatives, subject-matter experts, as well as family members of martyrs and war veterans.

In addition to policy discussions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the Karabakh region, engage in Azerbaijani language classes, and take part in various cultural, recreational, and intellectual activities.

The Diaspora Youth Summer Camp has steadily gained popularity and recognition, both domestically and internationally. Its consistent growth and strong participation rates reflect its continued success as a meaningful platform for youth engagement.

Since its inception, the camp has been held in Sheki, Shamakhi, Shusha, Nakhchivan, and Lachin. Each year, the organizing committee receives over 3,000 applications from more than 60 countries. To date, more than 700 young people have benefitted from this unique initiative aimed at fostering unity, cultural awareness, and a strong sense of national identity among the Azerbaijani diaspora.
