Khojavend, The Gulf Observer: On February 20, the first group of returning residents officially resettled in the city of Khojavend and Khojavend village, marking another significant step in Azerbaijan’s post-conflict reconstruction and repopulation efforts.

A total of 50 families, comprising 194 individuals, were resettled in the city of Khojavend, while 20 families, totaling 94 people, relocated to Khojavend village. The families received keys to their newly constructed apartments during a formal ceremony.

The key handover event was attended by officials from the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in the city of Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, along with representatives of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of Azerbaijan and other relevant authorities.

The resettlement forms part of Azerbaijan’s broader strategy to facilitate the safe and dignified return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their native lands, supported by newly developed housing infrastructure and essential public services.

Officials reaffirmed the government’s continued commitment to restoring liberated territories and ensuring sustainable living conditions for returning residents, as reconstruction and development projects progress across the region.
