Frankfurt Hosts “Turkmenistan Economy Days” to Boost Bilateral Trade and Investment Cooperation

Frankfurt, The Gulf Observer: The Turkmenistan Economy Days were successfully held in Frankfurt am Main on October 30–31, aimed at further strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Turkmenistan, Germany, and other interested EU countries.

The two-day event brought together representatives of more than 50 leading German companies, banks, and industrial associations, alongside 51 Turkmen companies and a number of government agencies.

Among the German participants were major industrial concerns and financial institutions including Deutsche Bank AG, Commerzbank AG, BOMAG GmbH, CLAAS GmbH, John Deere International GmbH, and BASF-Intertrade. The forum also featured the participation of prominent industry associations such as the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, the German Agricultural Alliance, Germany Trade & Investment (GTAI), and the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency.

On the Turkmen side, the delegation included representatives of key ministries and agencies responsible for finance and banking, agriculture and food production, textiles and light industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, hydrocarbons and petrochemicals, construction, transport, and communications.

The opening ceremony was addressed by Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, and Michael Harms, Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy. Both highlighted the growing potential for Turkmen-German partnership in technology, industry, and sustainable development.

Throughout the event, plenary sessions, B2B and B2G meetings were held, during which a number of bilateral agreements were signed. Discussions focused on expanding trade and economic relations, attracting foreign direct investment, and enhancing cooperation in the development of transport and logistics corridors and energy partnerships.

Special emphasis was placed on the transition to a green economy, digital transformation, and the advancement of e-government initiatives.

The program also included visits to leading German industrial enterprises, offering participants an opportunity to explore practical models of innovation and industrial management.

The Turkmenistan Economy Days in Germany served as an important platform for deepening mutually beneficial contacts, attracting investment, and introducing advanced technologies into strategically significant sectors of the Turkmen economy.
