Gaza Ceasefire Commences After Delay

Gaza Ceasefire Commences After Delay as Hamas Names Hostages for Release

Gaza, The Gulf Observer: The ceasefire in Gaza, initially set to begin earlier, was delayed by nearly three hours after a dispute over the release of hostages. Israel had insisted that it would continue its strikes on Gaza until the names of the hostages to be freed were provided, in accordance with the terms of the ceasefire agreement.

In response, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire and explained that the delay in submitting the list of names was due to technical reasons.

The delay was eventually resolved, and the ceasefire officially began, marking a significant step toward ending the violence that has ravaged the region for over 15 months. Hamas has now submitted the names of the hostages it intends to release as part of the agreement, with both parties agreeing to adhere to the terms of the truce.

This ceasefire deal, which follows months of brutal conflict, is seen as a critical moment in efforts to bring stability and relief to the people of Gaza, though the situation remains tense.
