Balkan Province, The Gulf Observer: National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, conducted a working visit to Balkan province on Thursday to assess preparations for the upcoming Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).

During the visit, the Chairman chaired a high-level meeting focused on organizational readiness for the major international forum, placing particular emphasis on ensuring public order, security, and effective coordination among law enforcement and military bodies.

According to official Turkmen media, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underscored the need for comprehensive cooperation among security and defense agencies to maintain strict control and ensure a safe and orderly environment throughout the event.

The meeting also covered infrastructural and logistical aspects, including ongoing improvements to the Avaza National Tourist Zone, sanitation efforts, 24/7 emergency medical services, and arrangements to provide comfortable conditions for visiting foreign delegations.

Cultural programming was highlighted as a key element of the conference. The National Leader proposed organizing concerts and friendship festivals that showcase the national cuisines and cultural traditions of Central Asian nations. He also emphasized the importance of broad media coverage of the forum, both in traditional outlets and on digital platforms.

As part of his visit, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took a boat trip on the Caspian Sea to review maritime infrastructure and inspect coastal preparedness. Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense, Begench Gundogdyev, briefed him on the deployment readiness of patrol vessels assigned to ensure maritime security and protect ecological balance in the Caspian Sea during the event.

Following the working inspection, the National Leader returned to Ashgabat, where he was received by senior officials and government representatives.

The Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries is expected to bring together high-level delegations from around the world, making comprehensive preparations and inter-agency coordination critical to its successful hosting.
