Turkmen Envoy Highlights Market-Driven TVET Reforms at Islamabad NAVTTC Roundtable

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: April 14, 2026 — A high-level roundtable was convened at the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) in Islamabad, bringing together Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, heads of diplomatic missions, and representatives of international organizations accredited in Pakistan to advance cooperation in technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

At the outset, the Pakistani side presented a comprehensive overview of NAVTTC’s initiatives, highlighting key achievements and ongoing reforms under the national TVET Sector Support Program and Vision 2025. The briefing underscored Pakistan’s commitment to modernizing skills development frameworks to meet evolving labor market demands and enhance workforce competitiveness.

Participants engaged in detailed discussions on strengthening collaboration between NAVTTC and partner countries, focusing on training, certification, and workforce mobility. Emphasis was placed on launching joint skill development programs, expanding scholarship opportunities, and establishing centers of excellence to foster innovation and capacity building.

Speaking at the session, A. Movlamov outlined Turkmenistan’s strategic approach to reforming its technical and vocational education system in alignment with market needs. He highlighted the country’s focus on industrial partnerships, gender equality, and international cooperation as key pillars of its skills development policy.

The ambassador further reiterated Turkmenistan’s commitment to regional cooperation under its policy of Permanent Neutrality, stressing the importance of developing a highly skilled workforce to support major regional initiatives. In this context, he underscored the need for qualified professionals to contribute to strategic energy projects such as the TAPI Pipeline and the TAP power transmission line, which are critical to addressing Pakistan’s energy requirements and enhancing regional connectivity.

Concluding the roundtable, participants expressed strong interest in deepening dialogue and agreed to intensify engagement between relevant agencies and educational institutions, paving the way for sustained international collaboration in skills development.
