H.H. Sheikha Latifa Inaugurates Fourth Edition of ‘Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert’ Festival

Dubai, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), inaugurated the fourth edition of the ‘Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert’ festival at the Al Marmoom Desert Reserve. The festival, running until January 12, 2025, is designed to advance Dubai’s film industry by fostering creativity and supporting emerging talents.

Under the theme ‘Where Stories Come to Life’, the festival features over 80 film screenings, interactive workshops, and panel discussions with renowned directors and cinema experts. The programme also includes the prestigious Al Marmoom Short-Film Competition, with categories such as documentaries, animation, live-action, and AI-driven films.

H.H. Sheikha Latifa emphasized Dubai’s global leadership in the creative sector, supported by cutting-edge infrastructure and a dynamic environment that attracts global talent. She highlighted the festival’s significance in promoting cultural exchange, nurturing creativity, and inspiring a new generation of filmmakers.

The event features unique attractions, such as an Immersive Experience Zone showcasing AI-powered digital art, traditional crafts exhibitions, and environmental awareness activities in the Al Marmoom Desert Reserve. Visitors can enjoy stargazing sessions, safari bus tours, and performances that blend heritage and innovation.
