Haj Management Agreement for Brunei Darussalam Pilgrims Signed in Saudi Arabia
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: A formal signing ceremony for the Haj Management Agreement for Brunei Darussalam’s pilgrims for the 2025 season recently took place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, represented Brunei Darussalam, while the Minister of Haj and Umrah, Dr. Taufig Fauzan Ar Rabi’ah, signed on behalf of Saudi Arabia. The agreement outlines key aspects of haj management, with further discussions to take place at the senior official level.
Prior to the signing, a bilateral meeting was held at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah to finalize arrangements for Brunei Darussalam’s pilgrims. Present at the meeting was Brunei’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Awang Haji Harun bin Haji Junid.
During the meeting, the Saudi Minister highlighted efforts to enhance haj operations through a streamlined online system for efficient management. The Minister of Religious Affairs of Brunei expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s exceptional services during last year’s haj season and extended hopes for continued excellence in the future.
The visit also coincided with the 4th Edition of the Haj Conference and Exhibition at the Superdome in Jeddah from January 13 to 16.
