Heydar Aliyev Foundation Unveils Fully Renovated Osman Mirzayev Orphanage Building

Heydar Aliyev

Lankaran, The Gulf Observer: The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has completed a full overhaul of the Osman Mirzayev Orphanage’s social service institution building in Lankaran, with the renovated facility officially inaugurated on November 21.

The opening ceremony was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Alena Aliyeva.

Orphanage No. 5, which has operated in Lankaran since 1941, had deteriorated significantly over the decades, rendering the building unsuitable for continued use. In response, the Foundation launched major renovation works in 2024 to restore and modernize the facility.

The renovated complex consists of five interconnected buildings with one and two floors and is designed to accommodate 120 children across different age groups. The upgraded social service institution now includes classrooms, computer science labs, sewing and carpet weaving rooms, dance and music studios, and a fully equipped workshop. All rooms have been furnished with modern equipment, and subject classrooms feature updated visual teaching aids.

The facility also offers dedicated recreation and medical rooms, a wardrobe, a library, a reading room, a dining hall, an assembly hall, and a gym. An outdoor sports field and a new playground equipped with modern play structures have been constructed to enhance the children’s physical and social development.

Extensive redevelopment and landscaping works were carried out in the courtyard, creating a safe, welcoming, and child-friendly environment.

The renovation reflects the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving social infrastructure and supporting the welfare and development of children across Azerbaijan.
