Hezbollah to Target Deeper Areas in Occupied Palestine: Iran's UN Mission

New York, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations in New York has announced that the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah is prepared to strike deeper targets within Israeli-occupied territories. This move is in response to the recent Israeli attack on Beirut.

In a statement released on Friday night, the mission explained that until now, both Hezbollah and Israel have adhered to an unwritten understanding that limited their military operations to border areas and shallow zones, targeting primarily military objectives.

“However, the Zionist regime’s attack on Dahieh in Beirut and the targeting of a residential building marks a deviation from these boundaries,” the statement said.

The mission further warned that Hezbollah’s response would not be confined to military targets and means. “We anticipate that, in its response, Hezbollah will choose both broader and deeper targets.”

This development follows an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday against a building in a suburb of Beirut, resulting in the assassination of Fuad Shukr, a senior Hezbollah commander and an advisor to the movement’s Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Hezbollah and the Israeli regime have been exchanging fire since October last year, following Tel Aviv’s initiation of a war on Gaza.
