Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Reveals Nominees for Vietnamese Outstanding Young Face Award 2023
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union unveiled the list of 20 nominees advancing to the final round of the prestigious Vietnamese Outstanding Young Face Award 2023. This recognition celebrates the exceptional achievements of individuals under the age of 35 who have made significant positive contributions to society.
The online voting phase is set to take place from February 20 to 26, facilitated through the dedicated platform www.tainangtrevietnam.vn. This phase will determine the top 10 Vietnamese outstanding young people and 10 promising young faces, with the results to be disclosed at a ceremony scheduled in Hà Nội from March 20 to 24.
Journalist Phùng Công Sưởng, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tiền Phong (Vanguard) newspaper and Deputy Director of the Việt Nam Youth Talent Support Fund, shared insights into the award’s selection process. A total of 171 nominations were received, featuring 115 young men and 56 young women from 58 different units.
The nominees, spanning diverse fields, range from the age of 12 to 37. Notably, the nominee with the highest academic title holds a professor degree, showcasing the broad spectrum of achievements across various domains.
The 171 nominees are engaged in ten distinct fields, including academic study, scientific research – creativity, production labor, business – startup, national defense, security, sports, culture and arts, social activities, and government administrative management.
The selected individuals for the online voting round have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments. Notable among them are Phạm Việt Hưng, a gold medalist in the international mathematics contest for two consecutive years (2022 and 2023), and Trần Thị Ngọc Yến, a national sepak takraw athlete with remarkable achievements in SEA Games and ASIAD, clinching gold and silver medals.
In the scientific and creativity field, standout nominees include Hà Thị Thanh Hương, Phạm Huy Hiệu, and Ngô Quốc Duy, all of whom have made significant contributions to their respective areas of expertise.
Lê Văn Phúc, a social population geography student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HCM City National University, received a nomination in the social activity category for his commendable charity work with the ‘Fly To Sky’ team.
Renowned Vietnamese rapper Đen Vâu (Nguyễn Đức Cường) is also on the list of nominees in the culture and art category.
The Vietnam Outstanding Young Face Award stands as an annual accolade, recognizing the outstanding performances of individuals under 35 whose contributions have left a positive and lasting impact on society.
