Azerbaijan is a member of several regional organizations, including the Organization of Turkic States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.     • Southern Gas Corridor: The Southern Gas Corridor is a major energy project that connects Azerbaijan’s natural gas reserves to markets in Europe. President Aliyev’s government has been actively promoting this project, which is expected to boost regional cooperation and support economic growth in Azerbaijan and neighboring countries.
    • Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway: President Aliyev’s government has played a key role in the development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway, which connects Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey. This railway has improved connectivity between the three countries and has helped to promote economic integration and trade.
    • Organization of Turkic States: President Aliyev has been an active participant in the Organization of Turkic States, which is a regional organization that promotes economic, cultural, and political cooperation among Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Organization of Turkic States was established in 2009 as an intergovernmental organization, with the overarching aim of promoting comprehensive cooperation among Turkic States. Its four founding member states are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye. During the 7th Summit held in Baku in October 2019, Uzbekistan joined as a full member. Hungary received observer status at the Organization during its 6th Summit in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic in September 2018. In the 8th Summit held in November 2021, Turkmenistan and in November 2022, Turkish republic of Northern Cyprus joined as an Observer Members to the Organization.
    • Non-Aligned Movement: Azerbaijan is a member of the Non-Aligned Movement, which is a group of countries that are not aligned with any major power bloc. President Aliyev has used this platform to promote regional cooperation and to advocate for Azerbaijan’s interests in the global community. Azerbaijan has been chairing the Non-Aligned Movement since 2019. Its chairmanship will be completed in 2023.

President Aliyev’s government has achieved significant progress in various areas, positioning Azerbaijan as a regional leader and an important player in the global community.
