Indonesia Reaffirms Commitment to Boost Investment Ties with South Africa at CEO Forum

Johannesburg, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to boosting outbound investment and strengthening economic cooperation with South Africa during the Indonesia-Africa CEO Forum held in Johannesburg on Friday.
Speaking before business leaders and officials, Vice President Gibran underscored South Africa’s strategic role as a key partner and an essential gateway for Indonesia’s entry into broader African markets. He highlighted Indonesia’s strong industrial capacity, skilled human resources, robust manufacturing networks, technological expertise, and its advantageous access to ASEAN markets as important assets in advancing bilateral cooperation.
“I want to emphasize our commitment to improving investment and economic cooperation with Africa. So, if there are any issues, please inform us,” he stated.
The Vice President stressed that the Indonesia-Africa CEO Forum represents a major step toward deepening ties and expanding collaboration between Indonesia and South Africa. He further emphasized that cooperation among emerging economies is vital for shaping a future marked by fair, strong, and inclusive global growth.
During his remarks, Vice President Gibran conveyed warm greetings from President Prabowo Subianto, expressing appreciation to the South African government for its hospitality and excellent event arrangements.
The Indonesia-Africa CEO Forum was initiated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) to promote economic partnerships and business opportunities across both regions.
Vice President Gibran was accompanied by several members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir.
He arrived in Johannesburg on Friday afternoon at approximately 3:15 p.m. local time. During his visit to South Africa, the Vice President will also attend the G20 Summit, where he is scheduled to deliver a speech and reaffirm Indonesia’s positions on key global priority issues.
