Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesia’s Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Public Works (PU), Dody Hanggodo, and Deputy Chief of the Indonesian Military Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita, have pledged to synergize efforts to achieve national food self-sufficiency.

Speaking after a high-level coordination meeting, Minister Sulaiman emphasized the commitment of all parties to ensure the availability of infrastructure and facilities essential for agricultural production, aligning with directives from President Prabowo Subianto.

“Today, we held a coordination meeting to ensure that all necessary preparations are in place to realize food self-sufficiency,” Sulaiman stated, expressing optimism about the collaboration between the PU Ministry and the Army.

Key discussions at the meeting included addressing issues related to irrigation systems, seeds, and fertilizer distribution, areas that had previously faced challenges. Sulaiman noted that the joint efforts are progressing well and are vital to meeting Indonesia’s self-sufficiency goals.

Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to supporting agricultural productivity by enhancing irrigation networks across Java and other islands. “We are the builders and the supporting unit. The president’s directive is clear: we must achieve food self-sufficiency as soon as possible,” Hanggodo stated.

The Deputy Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita, highlighted the Army’s role in supporting these initiatives, further solidifying the collaborative approach.

The partnership reflects Indonesia’s concerted efforts to strengthen food security and reduce dependency on imports, aligning with national development goals under President Subianto’s leadership.
