Indonesian President Prabowo Arrives in Beijing for First State Visit
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Beijing on Friday evening for his inaugural state visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. Prabowo, accompanied by his son Didit Hediprasetyo, disembarked from the presidential Boeing 737-700 BBJ aircraft at Beijing Capital International Airport, where he was honored with a ceremonial welcome by the People’s Liberation Army. A young girl presented flowers to President Prabowo in a gesture of goodwill.
Chinese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Han Jun, welcomed Prabowo alongside several senior Indonesian officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia.
After the airport reception, Prabowo and his delegation proceeded to their accommodations in Beijing. The visit’s agenda includes a meeting with President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People, a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the People’s Heroes in Tiananmen Square, and discussions with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning earlier remarked on the significance of Prabowo’s visit, highlighting Indonesia’s decision to prioritize China as his first international destination. “This visit underscores the depth of Indonesia-China ties,” she stated, adding that China is committed to further advancing their relationship.
Following his engagements in China, President Prabowo’s diplomatic tour will continue to the United States, Peru, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Qatar, reflecting Indonesia’s active international outreach and commitment to strengthening global partnerships.
