Indonesian VP Ma'ruf Amin arrives in Abu Dhabi

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin reached Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Tuesday evening as part of an eight-day visit that will also take him to Egypt.

Amin and his wife Wury Ma’ruf Amin arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport at 3:22 p.m. local time after an eight-hour flight from Jakarta.

Upon their arrival at the airport, they were greeted by UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Far Almazrouei; Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE, Husin Bagis; and Indonesian defense attaché in Riyadh, Brigadier General Putut Witjaksono.

The guard of honor of the UAE government also greeted the Indonesian Vice President upon arrival.

During his Abu Dhabi visit, Amin is scheduled to meet UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) at Al Shatie Palace on Wednesday to discuss a number of strategic issues between the two countries.

He will also meet the president and secretary general of Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace (ADFP) at Hotel Emirates Palace and deliver a speech at the 9th ADFP meeting.

The Vice President and his entourage will leave for Dubai on Wednesday evening to carry out a series of activities.

On Thursday, Amin is scheduled to hold talks with representatives of Dubai Holding at Hotel Raffles and representatives of the Publisher Global Islamic Index institution at the same hotel.

On Friday, the fourth day of his visit, he will visit the Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) branch in Dubai. He will then proceed with his journey to Cairo, Egypt, on Friday evening.
