Iran and Kuwait Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Regional Stability
New York, The Gulf Observer: According to an IRNA reporter, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali al-Yahya held a meeting on Tuesday evening in New York, discussing the cultural commonalities and close relations between the two countries.
Bagheri Kani emphasized the importance of close cooperation between Iran, Kuwait, and other regional countries in strengthening stability and security in the region. He underscored the policy pursued by the government of late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, prioritizing the consolidation of relations with neighboring countries. Bagheri Kani highlighted that building mutual trust is the starting point for interaction between neighbors and stressed the necessity of enhancing economic relations to strengthen ties between Tehran and Kuwait City.
During the meeting, al-Yahya acknowledged the historical, geographical, and cultural commonalities between the two countries and emphasized Kuwait’s readiness for comprehensive development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Both diplomats, who were in New York to attend Security Council meetings, reaffirmed their commitment to boosting ties and strengthening bilateral relations mechanisms in all fields, including the joint economic commission and political and consular committees.
The discussions reflect a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and regional stability, with both Iran and Kuwait expressing a readiness to further develop their relationship.
