Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi met with Qatari Ambassador Saad Abdullah Saad Al Mahmoud Al-Sharif in Tehran to advance the implementation of key economic cooperation agreements between the two countries. The meeting, held on Wednesday, focused on strengthening economic relations and facilitating opportunities for both nations’ business sectors.

During the discussions, Minister Aliabadi emphasized the importance of executing existing agreements and laid out a roadmap for enhanced collaboration. Three priority areas were highlighted: strategic planning for the upcoming 10th Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in Doha, advancing economic ties with necessary infrastructure development, and accelerating efforts to connect Iran and Qatar’s electricity grids.

Both sides also discussed organizing a conference and business forum to coincide with the Joint Commission’s sessions, set to take place from December 10 to 12, 2024, in Doha. This event aims to foster direct business exchanges and deepen economic engagement between Iran and Qatar.
