Iran and Saudi Arabia Discuss Expanding Bilateral Ties

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Head of Charity Affairs Organization, Mehdi Khamoushi, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, have emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral ties between their nations. The discussions took place on the sidelines of the 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Islamic Countries in Makkah.

During their meeting, Minister Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz expressed his satisfaction with the presence of the Iranian delegation at the conference and underscored the significance of cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, both bilaterally and within the broader Islamic world. He also discussed the state of endowments in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the need for the exchange of expertise in this vital Islamic matter.

The 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs in Islamic Countries, organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, commenced on August 4, 2024, in Makkah. The event is themed “The Role of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ministries in Promoting and Consolidating the Principles and Values of Moderation.”

Ministers, muftis, heads of Islamic councils, associations, and institutions from 60 countries are participating in the conference, which aims to foster collaboration and unity among Islamic nations through the promotion of moderation and the exchange of best practices in the management of endowments and Islamic affairs.

The meeting between the Iranian and Saudi officials marks a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in the realm of Islamic endowments and charitable activities.
