Iran Showcases Strong Performance in BRICS Naval Drill, Says Navy Commander

Nowshahr, The Gulf Observer: Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Army’s Naval Force, announced on Friday that Iran had successfully participated in the BRICS international naval drill, praising the performance and dedication of the country’s naval personnel and maritime academies.
Speaking at a ceremony in the northern city of Nowshahr, Rear Admiral Irani said the achievements in the multinational exercise were the result of the diligent efforts of Iran’s naval forces and the teams from Nowshahr Maritime University.
He highlighted the standout performance of Iranian university teams, noting that despite operating with more limited equipment and smaller personnel numbers, they secured top rankings in several specialized events. The teams competed against participants from major regional navies, including China, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and “proudly raised Iran’s flag,” he added.
The commander also underscored the ongoing commitment of Iran’s naval forces to safeguarding national interests. “Just like during the eight years of the Sacred Defense, our naval forces continue to fulfill the country’s critical economic and security missions with strength and dedication,” he said, referring to the Iraq-imposed war on Iran from 1980 to 1988.
Rear Admiral Irani further stressed that the equipment and technology used by the Iranian Navy are entirely domestically produced, consistent with the country’s strategic maritime doctrines and operational methods.
