Iranian Ambassador Extends New Year 2026 Greetings, Hails Growing Iran–Pakistan Ties

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the government and people of Pakistan on the joyous occasion of the New Year 2026, expressing hopes for health, prosperity and success in the year ahead.

In his New Year message, the Iranian ambassador conveyed sincere felicitations to the brotherly, friendly and neighboring people of Pakistan, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations. He paid special tribute to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, members of the federal cabinet, as well as the Speaker and members of the National Assembly and the Senate, for their strong political will and sustained efforts in advancing Iran–Pakistan cooperation.

Ambassador Moghadam highlighted the importance of high-level exchanges and brotherly support between the two countries, noting that these initiatives have played a significant role in deepening bilateral ties. He also expressed profound appreciation for Pakistan’s armed forces and security agencies, acknowledging their vital role in enhancing cooperation and ensuring security and stability along the shared borders, particularly in the fight against terrorism.

Reflecting on bilateral relations, the ambassador described 2025 as a highly successful and remarkable year in the history of Iran–Pakistan ties. He said that, owing to the firm determination of the leadership of both countries, the dedicated efforts of government institutions, and the steadfast support of the two nations’ peoples, relations reached unprecedented heights. He added that both sides extended mutual support across various arenas, including regional and international forums.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Moghadam expressed confidence that the coming year would bring peace, stability and shared progress, while opening new avenues for enhanced cooperation based on common interests, shared values and mutual respect. He reiterated Iran’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan for the promotion of regional and international peace and stability.

The ambassador also underscored that the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people would always remember Pakistan’s strong and principled support during the twelve-day war, describing it as a reflection of the enduring bond between the two countries.

Concluding his message, Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam once again extended heartfelt New Year greetings and expressed gratitude to Pakistan, ending with the words: “Pakistan, shukriya, shukriya.”
