Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi Departs for China to Attend SCO Foreign Ministers Meeting

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araqchi has departed from Tehran to Tianjin, China, to participate in the upcoming Meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), scheduled to take place on July 15.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Minister Araqchi is set to deliver an address at the high-level gathering and will also hold bilateral meetings with his Chinese counterpart and several other foreign ministers on the sidelines of the event.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei, had earlier confirmed the visit in a statement to reporters, noting that the Council of Foreign Ministers plays a critical role in preparing and coordinating the agenda for the upcoming SCO Heads of State Summit.

Iran, having become a full member of the SCO in 2022, continues to emphasize its active engagement in multilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of regional security, economic integration, and diplomatic dialogue within the framework of the organization.
