Iranian Foreign Minister Calls for New Phase of Relations with GCC
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has emphasized the need for relations between Iran and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to enter a new phase characterized by mutual understanding.
Araghchi made these remarks during a phone conversation with GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, who congratulated him on his recent appointment as Foreign Minister. The discussion focused on enhancing relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the GCC, exploring various avenues for strengthening ties.
Secretary General AlBudaiwi acknowledged Iran’s crucial role in promoting peace and stability in the region. He expressed the GCC members’ willingness to engage in consultations and interactions with Iran on addressing major regional challenges.
In response, Minister Araghchi reiterated Iran’s eagerness to further develop friendly and brotherly relations with the GCC member states. He underscored Iran’s commitment to advancing cooperation and fostering closer ties with its neighbors in the Gulf region.
