Iranian President Condemns Israeli Airstrike on Gaza School, Calls for Global Action
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike on a Gaza City school that resulted in the deaths of over 100 people, urging the international community to intensify efforts to prevent further atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza.
In a statement issued on Saturday, President Pezeshkian denounced the attack on al-Tabin School, which was sheltering displaced Palestinians, calling it an “inhumane and barbaric act” by the Zionist regime. He criticized the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza, labeling them as genocide, and accused certain governments that profess to defend human rights of enabling these crimes through their unwavering support for Israel.
Pezeshkian highlighted the “double standard behavior” of these governments, which, while advocating for negotiations to establish a ceasefire, continue to provide unrestrained support to Israel. He argued that such actions make these governments complicit in the crimes committed by Israel.
The Iranian president further stated that the continued assaults by the Israeli regime are a desperate response to Palestinian resistance and serve as a diversion from Israel’s internal crises.
Pezeshkian called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council and Islamic nations, to fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining regional and global peace and security. He urged immediate action to prevent the recurrence of similar crimes against Palestinians, describing these acts as crimes against humanity.
