Israeli Air Strikes Claim Lives of 24 Palestinians, Including Women and Children, in Rafah
Rafah, The Gulf Observer: The death toll from Israeli air strikes on two residential homes in the city of Rafah, located in southern Gaza, has tragically risen to 24, according to medical sources cited by media. Among the victims are 16 children and six women.
The sources revealed that a number of Palestinians succumbed to injuries sustained during the Israeli air raids that targeted two homes, one situated in eastern Rafah and the other in its central area. Additionally, there are reports of individuals still missing beneath the rubble.
On Saturday evening, the civil defence service in Gaza announced the retrieval of several victims from one of the targeted residential buildings in eastern Rafah. In a solemn statement, they disclosed the grim reality of the situation, indicating that their teams are tirelessly working to extract more fatalities and search for those who remain unaccounted for.
The tragedy unfolds amidst heightened tensions and Israeli threats of an invasion of Rafah, despite warnings from the international community and the United Nations against such actions. Rafah, known as the last refuge for displaced individuals in Gaza, faces an uncertain future as the specter of further violence looms over the region.
As the Palestinian death toll continues to mount and the humanitarian crisis deepens, calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a peaceful resolution to the conflict grow louder from around the world. The plight of innocent civilians, especially women and children, underscores the urgent need for a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the longstanding crisis in the region.
