IT Park Uzbekistan Hosts Seminar for Korean Companies in Partnership with KOIIA
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: IT Park Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Korean Association of Industrial Intelligence (KOIIA), conducted a mini-seminar to engage Korean companies and highlight the potential of Uzbekistan’s IT sector. The seminar saw participation from representatives of Koreans Group, ICTC, and OCU, all of whom expressed strong interest in the region’s human capital and IT capabilities.
KOIIA, a prominent Korean association, unites major IT and industrial firms from South Korea, with a mission to foster industry growth, facilitate market expansion, and forge international partnerships.
During the seminar, the Korean delegates were given an in-depth overview of Uzbekistan’s IT landscape and the favorable conditions for establishing outsourcing offices in the country. Special emphasis was placed on the “Zero Risk” program, which allows foreign companies to enter the Uzbek market without strategic losses by setting up operations in regional locations.
Participants showed particular interest in the tax incentives available for outsourcing businesses in Uzbekistan, as well as the pool of highly skilled IT professionals proficient in the Korean language. Mr. Kim Hyung Kook, Director of Koreans Group, and Mr. Im Yoo Shin, Head of OCU’s Digital Business Department, sought detailed information on IT training programs at Uzbek universities, with the aim of setting up offices and creating employment opportunities for local talent.
Mr. Choe Kihyung, representing ICTC, expressed a keen interest in developing technological solutions for the automotive industry. He highlighted Uzbekistan’s readiness to produce innovative automotive services and new technological products.
The visiting delegates expressed their intent to travel to Uzbekistan soon to further explore the possibilities of opening offices in the country. They also received invitations to the Global Business Services Forum, scheduled to take place on July 24th in Tashkent.
Uzbekistan is rapidly cementing its status in the Asian market, attracting a growing number of Korean companies looking to establish outsourcing operations. This trend underscores the effectiveness of the government’s initiatives to liberalize the IT sector and the successful rollout of the “Digital Uzbekistan-2030” strategy, which aims to boost the country’s export potential and create high-paying jobs for its citizens.
