Japanese expert: Elections in Uzbekistan meet democratic requirements

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Tetsuji Tanaka, a Japanese scientist and expert, Executive Director of the Central Asia and Caucasus Research Institute, visited Uzbekistan many times. We asked him for his opinion on the election process in Uzbekistan.

“Every time I come to Uzbekistan, I witness great transformations in your country,” he said. – In general, the reforms in your country on the construction of New Uzbekistan are now obvious to the whole world. In my opinion, the course of the elections for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan fully complies with democratic requirements and criteria. We visited several polling stations and did not encounter any violations in the voting process.
