Japanese Researchers Explore Ancient Bukhara’s Rich Cultural Tapestry
Bukhara, The Gulf Observer: Bukhara region’s Hokim, Botir Zaripov, graciously welcomed a distinguished delegation of Japanese researchers from Yamagata University, headed by Professor Tadashi Onodera. The meeting between the two parties served as a platform for fruitful discussions and the exchange of ideas, fostering collaborative efforts in academic and regional development initiatives. This diplomatic engagement underscores the commitment to strengthen ties between Bukhara region and Yamagata University, promoting cultural exchange and academic cooperation for mutual benefit.
The head of the region welcomed the guests and informed about the rich history and cultural values of ancient and eternally young Bukhara, the reforms implemented on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in education, and their results.
Yamagata University professor Tadashi Onodera noted that cooperation with Uzbekistan, where most of the population is youth, is essential. This meeting will open up new opportunities for academic exchange and expansion of inter-university collaboration.
The parties discussed issues of academic and scientific cooperation, student exchange, strengthening interaction towards improving the qualifications of professors and teachers, and further intensifying ties with leading innovation centers, technology parks, and universities in Japan.
Guests from Japan visited Bukhara region. They got acquainted with the activities of Uzbekistan – Türkiye LLC Bukhara-Varnet in “Sufikorgar” mahalla. Agricultural products are grown here using hydroponics. Last year alone, exports amounted to almost two million dollars. A training center and laboratory are being built here, and it is planned to organize the production of structures for greenhouses.
The delegation visited the “Rabotikalmok” mahalla citizens’ assembly, where they got familiar with the activities of the mahalla chairman, assistant hokim, youth leader, women’s activist, and prevention inspector.
The guests participated in a spiritual, enlightenment, cultural and musical event organized in the mahalla, held under the motto “For a new life, for a New Uzbekistan!”
