Kazakh President Outlines Key Priorities for Economic Stability and Growth

Growth

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Friday outlined the major priorities facing the Kazakh Government, ranging from stabilizing and reducing inflation to ensuring sustainable economic growth and improving citizens’ real incomes, the Akorda press service reported.

Speaking at the awards ceremony for the Altyn Sapa and Paryz prizes, as well as the Best Product of Kazakhstan national contest, President Tokayev stressed that these objectives remain urgent and central to the country’s development agenda.

To meet these challenges, the Head of State said a joint action program for 2026–2028 has been adopted, involving coordinated efforts by the Government, the National Bank, and the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market.

Tokayev added that he had previously discussed these priorities at a dialogue platform with rural akims, emphasizing that successful implementation requires synchronized work across all relevant state bodies and regional administrations.

“For entrepreneurs, predictability and fairness in tax, tariff, and regulatory policies are of paramount importance,” the President said, noting that the new Tax Code aims to reset and modernize the framework of cooperation between the state and the business community.

He underscored that sustainable business development rests on mutual commitments: the state must ensure a favorable business climate, while businesses must fulfill their tax obligations transparently and honestly.

“This is how it works in all developed, civilized countries,” Tokayev added.
