Kazakhstan and China Intensify Efforts to Boost Transit Traffic
Astana, The Gulf Observer: The Majilis deputies have commenced discussions on the draft law titled “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on the Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, including for Container Trains on China-Europe Route,” as reported by media outlets.
In presenting the document, Majilis member Nurtay Sabilyanov articulated that the primary objective of the law is to facilitate the advancement of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, particularly for container trains traversing the China-Europe corridor.
Sabilyanov underscored that the agreement was formally endorsed in Beijing on October 17, 2023, marking a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the realm of international transport logistics.
The proposed legislation seeks to bolster collaboration between the two nations, with a specific focus on enhancing export-import transit traffic for container transportation across their respective territories.
