Kazakhstan and UAE Hold Sixth Round of Political Consultations in Astana

Kazakhstan

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) convened the sixth round of political consultations in Astana, the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday.

The Kazakh delegation was led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Yermek Kosherbayev, while the UAE side was headed by Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Special Envoy for Investment Cooperation with Central Asia.

Welcoming the Emirati delegation, Minister Kosherbayev underscored Kazakhstan’s view of the UAE — and particularly Abu Dhabi — as one of its most important political and economic partners in the Arab world. He reaffirmed Astana’s commitment to expanding comprehensive cooperation across key sectors.

Both sides held detailed discussions on strengthening political dialogue, broadening trade and economic ties, and enhancing investment cooperation. The consultations also examined prospects for collaboration in energy, transport, innovation, and artificial intelligence, reflecting the expanding strategic agenda between the two nations.

The delegations reviewed progress on agreements reached during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s working visit to Abu Dhabi in January and the official visit of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Astana in May. These engagements have deepened momentum in bilateral projects and strategic partnerships.

Al Mazrouei praised the current level of Kazakhstan–UAE cooperation, reiterating Abu Dhabi’s strong interest in further strengthening mutually beneficial ties across all priority areas.

Special focus was placed on preparations for joint events planned for next year, including upcoming high-level engagements. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments, stressing the importance of coordinating positions within multilateral platforms.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both countries agreed to maintain a stable, constructive dialogue between their foreign ministries and continue advancing bilateral cooperation.
