Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Presidents Hold High-Level Talks in Astana
Astana, The Gulf Observer: Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan engaged in closed-door discussions in Astana, as reported by NHC, citing the Akorda press service. The meeting underscored the strong bilateral ties and the mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
Welcoming President Mirziyoyev, President Tokayev highlighted the significance of the visit in advancing the partnership and alliance between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. “The people of Kazakhstan pay special attention to your visit. In recent years, the atmosphere of relations between our countries has changed drastically for the better. We will exert every effort to fill our cooperation with concrete content. This visit plays a huge role, since we will sign the documents which will determine the areas of our cooperation and alliance of our countries,” President Tokayev remarked.
In response, President Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the historical importance of the visit. “Today’s visit is of historical importance. Our meeting will strengthen the centuries-long ties of friendship and good neighborly relations between the two nations and will bring the strategic partnership and alliance to a new level,” he said.
The discussions between the two leaders focused on a range of areas, including political relations, trade and economic collaboration, transport and transit, investment opportunities, energy, agriculture, water management, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and industrial cooperation. The presidents also addressed regional and international issues.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progressive development of Kazakh-Uzbek relations across various sectors, reaffirming their commitment to further enhancing the strategic partnership between their countries.
