Kazakhstan Celebrates the 80th Anniversary of Distinguished Poetess Akushtap Baktygereeva

Astana, The Gulf Observer: A grand event was held in the Kazakh capital, Astana, honoring the 80th birth anniversary of esteemed Kazakh poetess and public figure, Akushtap Baktygereeva. Known for her influential contributions to Kazakh culture and literature, Baktygereeva has been celebrated widely for her dedication to promoting national values, art, and cultural heritage. The event, organized by the Kazakh National Academic Library and Kazakh National University of Arts, saw the presence of prominent officials, including Kazakh Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev, Majilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov, and Culture and Information Minister Aida Balayeva.

Aida Balayeva read a congratulatory message from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in which he praised Baktygereeva as a “gifted writer and prominent public figure” whose work has profoundly impacted Kazakh society. He noted that her poetry—celebrating the beauty of independent Kazakhstan, peace, and nature—resonates deeply with readers. President Tokayev also highlighted her reflections on family values, motherhood, and the upbringing of daughters, themes that have garnered widespread appreciation among Kazakhstani citizens.

Balayeva further acknowledged Baktygereeva’s significant role in shaping the nation’s youth and establishing enduring spiritual values. Numerous events were held to honor her legacy, including a literary-musical evening at the Kazakh National University of Arts, a play Zhuban, directed by Baktygereeva and playwright Madina Omarova, at the Khadisha Bukeeva West Kazakhstan Regional Kazakh Drama Theatre, and a literary evening titled Alashtyn Akushtaby at the Kazakh National Academic Library. During this event, Baktygereeva’s book Menin Farizam, dedicated to the celebrated Kazakh writer Fariza Ongarssynova, was presented.

Baktygereeva also engaged with readers during a special gathering at the Gumilyev Eurasian National University, where she shared insights into her work and life, further strengthening her connection with her admirers and affirming her role as a cherished figure in Kazakhstan’s literary and cultural history.
