Kazakhstan Poised to Supply Critical Raw Materials to Singapore: President Tokayev
Singapore, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has declared his nation’s readiness to supply essential raw materials and natural resources to Singapore, according to a report by media. This announcement was made during the Kazakhstan-Singapore Business Forum, underscoring the strategic importance of this partnership in light of the anticipated fourfold increase in global demand for rare metals by 2040.
Kazakhstan, home to approximately 5,000 unexplored deposits of various minerals, is positioning itself as a reliable partner for the joint development of these resources. “We have high hopes for long-term cooperation with Indorama company, which is keen on exploring copper and phosphate deposits in Kazakhstan,” stated President Tokayev. This collaboration is expected to significantly boost both nations’ capacities to meet rising global demands.
In addition to raw materials, President Tokayev highlighted the growing interest in Kazakhstan’s potential in renewable energy. He urged Singaporean companies to expand their partnerships in the generation of clean energy, as well as in the transfer of technologies and expertise. “Singapore is famous for its advanced energy generation facilities through incineration and innovative waste management technologies,” Tokayev noted. “We’re very interested in such innovative ways to manage waste and intend to promote cooperation in this field.”
This forum marks a pivotal step in enhancing bilateral economic ties and fostering sustainable development between Kazakhstan and Singapore.
