Nairobi, The Gulf Observer: The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened applications for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes ahead of the September 2025 intake, aiming to boost access to skills training nationwide.

The application period will run from August 8 to August 22, 2025, with fees reduced from Sh1,500 to Sh500 to encourage more enrolments. Eligible Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) holders from the years 2000 to 2024 are invited to apply for diploma, craft certificate, and artisan certificate courses.

Minimum entry requirements are set at a C-minus for Diploma (Level 6) programmes, a D plain for Craft Certificate (Level 5), and an E for Artisan Certificate (Level 4). Application guidelines are available on the KUCCPS website, while assistance can be sought at TVET institutions, Huduma Centres, or via KUCCPS helplines.

The move aligns with government efforts to expand technical training capacity and match skills development with market needs. KUCCPS, a state corporation established under the Universities Act, is tasked with coordinating the placement of government-sponsored students and ensuring equitable access to higher education.

Successful applicants will commence training in accredited institutions this September, gaining practical skills across diverse sectors.
