King of Malaysia Visits UAE Defence Manufacturing Facilities

Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has paid visits to two advanced technology and manufacturing facilities operated by the United Arab Emirates’ leading defence conglomerate, EDGE Group, namely NIMR and Caracal, in Abu Dhabi.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, the visits formed part of His Majesty’s special visit to the UAE, which commenced on Monday.
The King arrived at the NIMR facility located at the Tawazun Industrial Centre, where he was received by EDGE Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hamad Al Marar. During the visit, His Majesty was briefed on the company’s operations and capabilities by EDGE Platform and Systems Cluster President Khaled Al Zaabi.
NIMR is recognized for its specialization in the production of high-performance military vehicles designed to meet modern defence and security requirements.
Following the visit to NIMR, His Majesty proceeded to Caracal, another EDGE Group subsidiary, where he was welcomed by Chief Executive Officer Hamad Al Ameri. Caracal is internationally known for its expertise in the manufacturing of small arms.
During the visit, Sultan Ibrahim also demonstrated his marksmanship skills by firing a CSR-308 sniper rifle at a 100-metre shooting range.
The visits underscored the close and growing ties between Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates, particularly in the areas of defence industry cooperation, advanced technology, and manufacturing.
