Lahore Chamber Hosts Ethiopian Ambassador to Promote Trade and Investment Cooperation

Lahore, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan Dr. Oumer Hussien Oba visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and held discussions with Lahore’s business community aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries.
Upon his arrival, the Ambassador was warmly received by LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh and members of the Chamber’s Executive Committee.
Addressing the business community, Ambassador Dr. Oumer Hussien Oba briefed participants on Ethiopia’s economy, investment climate and incentives available for foreign investors. He encouraged Pakistani businessmen to visit Ethiopia and explore opportunities in the African market.
The Ambassador described Ethiopia as a gateway to Africa, stating that products manufactured in Ethiopia could easily access markets across the continent and beyond.
Highlighting direct connectivity between Pakistan and Ethiopia through Ethiopian Airlines, he said the time was right for Pakistani investors to explore opportunities in sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, mining, tourism and information and communication technology (ICT).
LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said African markets offered immense opportunities for Pakistani products and stressed that exchange of trade delegations could play a key role in enhancing bilateral trade.
He assured the Ethiopian envoy of the Chamber’s full support in promoting stronger economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Ethiopia.
