Li Qiang Calls for Strengthened China-UAE Business Ties at Dubai Forum
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: On Thursday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang urged enterprises from China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to seize emerging cooperation opportunities as both countries continue to strengthen their partnership. Li made these remarks while addressing the UAE-China Business Forum during his official visit to the UAE, held in Dubai.
Li emphasized that China-UAE relations are at a historic turning point, with economic and trade collaboration on the brink of a crucial upgrade. He expressed optimism that businesses from both nations will capitalize on the major trends and unlock new prospects for cooperation.
The Premier outlined three key areas for enhanced collaboration:
- Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Opportunities: Li encouraged enterprises to leverage the opportunities presented by high-quality BRI cooperation. He highlighted the need for the two countries to build on their bilateral relationship with a global outlook, fostering partnerships to expand markets and enhance integration into global industrial and supply chains.
- Strategic Development Alignment: He called for the alignment of each country’s development strategies, identifying more areas of shared interest and deepening cooperation in sectors like trade, new energy, and tourism.
- Innovation and Technological Collaboration: Li emphasized the importance of technological and industrial innovation, urging China and the UAE to work together in advanced fields such as manufacturing, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence.
Premier Li also welcomed increased UAE investment in China, expressing confidence that joint efforts from business leaders will further strengthen economic and trade ties, driving growth and prosperity for both nations.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of China-UAE diplomatic relations, a milestone underscoring the maturity and success of their economic partnership. Li reflected on the deep-rooted trade traditions and aligned values between the two countries, which have fostered a long-standing friendship and trust.
Over 200 representatives from the governments, chambers of commerce, and business sectors of both China and the UAE attended the forum. UAE business leaders praised China’s economic vitality and expressed their eagerness to increase investments in areas such as infrastructure, technological innovation, and energy, reaffirming their commitment to achieving mutually beneficial outcomes under the Belt and Road framework.
Premier Li concluded by acknowledging the shared aspirations of both countries as members of the Asian community, highlighting the region’s collective pursuit of peace, unity, and cooperation amidst global challenges.
