Malaysia Launches Visit Malaysia Year 2026 Promotion in Islamabad with Vibrant Cultural Showcase

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: The High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad successfully organised the Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2026 Promotion from 24 to 26 November 2025 at Centaurus Mall, Islamabad. The three-day event aimed to highlight Malaysia’s culture, cuisine, and tourism attractions to the people of Pakistan while further strengthening the longstanding people-to-people relations between the two nations.

The opening ceremony, held on 24 November 2025, was attended by all ASEAN Heads of Mission in Islamabad, along with several regional deans. Their participation underscored the spirit of regional cooperation and diplomatic support in promoting Southeast Asia as a vibrant and appealing travel destination.

In his opening remarks, His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, outlined the aspirations of Visit Malaysia Year 2026. He noted that Malaysia is preparing to welcome more than 35 million international visitors next year and reiterated the nation’s commitment to offering travellers an enriching and memorable experience. He emphasized Malaysia’s renowned hospitality, diverse natural landscapes, modern tourist attractions, and multicultural heritage—attributes celebrated worldwide under the slogan “Malaysia Truly Asia.”

Guests at the ceremony enjoyed a cultural performance by a traditional Malaysian dance troupe from the State of Pahang, offering the audience a glimpse into Malaysia’s colourful and diverse artistic traditions.

Over the course of three days, the VMY 2026 Promotion featured cultural showcases, Malaysian culinary delights, tourism information booths, and interactive activities that provided visitors with an immersive experience. Highlights included traditional dance demonstrations, exclusive tourism promotions, family-friendly engagements, and a series of lucky draws with exciting prizes, including free flight tickets to Malaysia.

The programme further highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between Malaysia and Pakistan and extended a warm invitation to Pakistani travellers to explore Malaysia’s beauty and diversity in 2026.
