Mirziyoyev, Putin, Tokayev launch Russia’s gas transit via Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan
Moscow, The Gulf Observer: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, launched the supply of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan.
At the ceremony, held via teleconference, the President of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the leaders of Kazakhstan and Russia for their support in implementing this project. Separately, he thanked the specialists who organized gas supplies in the shortest possible time, reconstructed sections of the main gas pipeline, modernized compressor stations, and built a new gas measuring station “Beyneu”.
It was emphasized that the launched import of Russian gas in reverse mode is strategically vital for Uzbekistan. This project is a breakthrough step in ensuring the energy security of Uzbekistan, diversifying guaranteed sources of “blue fuel” supplies, providing additional volumes to cover seasonal uneven consumption, and creating a reliable and uninterrupted supply of gas and electricity to the population.
Confidence was expressed that implementing such a large-scale project and its results would strengthen relations between the three countries.
