Muscat Hosts First Round of Oman-Bulgaria Political Consultations

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Bulgaria held the first round of their Political Consultations Session in Muscat on Tuesday, underscoring the commitment of both countries to strengthen bilateral ties.

The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, while the Bulgarian delegation was headed by Maria Anguelieva, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the session, both sides reviewed the existing friendly relations between Oman and Bulgaria and reaffirmed their shared interest in further developing cooperation across various fields. Discussions included the potential exchange of embassies to enhance diplomatic presence and engagement in each country.

The consultations also addressed a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the humanitarian and political repercussions of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries, including Mundhir Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department at the Omani Foreign Ministry, and Todor Stoyanov, Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others.

The session reflects the continued commitment of Oman and Bulgaria to deepen diplomatic cooperation and coordinate on regional and global matters of shared interest.
