Frankfurt, The Gulf Observer: The Muslim Council of Elders has hosted the first seminar within its programme at its stand in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2022. Titled ‘Pluralism and Coexistence in Islamic thought in light of the document on Human Fraternity’, the seminar was conducted by the President of the German-Moroccan Council Abdelmalek Hibaoui.
During the seminar, Dr. Hibaoui discussed Islamic principles that promote pluralism and coexistence through his understanding of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. He remarked that many Islamic principles carry messages of peaceful integration and coexistence for all of humanity.
The President of the German-Moroccan Council added that there have been historic instances in which Islamic teachings have strengthened relations between Muslims and followers of different religions.
He pointed to the successful German model as well as the experiences of other European nations, while noting that these countries may look for inspiration from the Document on Human Fraternity to further improve coexistence in Europe.
This is set to be the Council’s fourth participation at the Frankfurt Book Fair which takes place until 23rd October 2022.
