National Clothing and Jewelry Exhibition Commences in Petropavlovsk, North Kazakhstan

Petropavlovsk, The Gulf Observer: A vibrant celebration of tradition and entrepreneurship has kicked off in Petropavlovsk as the city hosts a national clothing and jewelry exhibition. The event, organized by the entrepreneurship and industrial-innovation development department, coincides with the festivities of Nauryz holiday, as reported by local media outlets.
The exhibition serves as a platform to showcase the creative prowess of the region’s female entrepreneurs and self-employed women. Highlighting their craftsmanship, the exhibition features an array of meticulously crafted garments and accessories reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
In a testament to the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial endeavors, significant financial support has been extended to these artisans. Notably, seven grants amounting to 29.2 million tenge were allocated in 2021 under the 2025 Business Roadmap state entrepreneurship development program. These grants were instrumental in facilitating the production of a diverse range of items including national clothing, bags, purses, children’s backpacks, aprons, dishcloths, home textiles, and embroidered garments. Additionally, a grant worth 5 million tenge was provided in 2022 as part of the 2021-2025 entrepreneurship development national project, further bolstering the efforts of these skilled artisans.
The inauguration of the exhibition witnessed widespread support from both private and state organizations across the region. Embracing the spirit of Ulttyq kiim kuni (National Clothing Day), many participants adorned themselves in traditional Kazakh attire, adding a colorful flourish to the proceedings.
The exhibition not only serves as a platform for economic empowerment but also stands as a poignant celebration of Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage. As visitors peruse through the meticulously crafted exhibits, they are not only treated to a visual feast but also afforded an opportunity to partake in a celebration of tradition, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
