National Library of Pakistan holds Book Exhibition to Commemorate Defence Day

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On 9th September 2024, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with a Shared Future (PRCCSF), was invited as the Chief Guest at the inauguration of a Book Exhibition organized at the National Library of Pakistan in Islamabad. During the event, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram delivered a keynote speech wherein he shed light on the significance of Pakistan’s Defence Day, focusing on the valor, sacrifices, and patriotism showcased by the armed forces and citizens of Pakistan in defense of the nation. Additionally, he commemorated the historic events associated with this important day, underscoring the resilience and bravery of those who have contributed to the country’s defense.

Moreover, Mr. Raja Javed Iqbal, the Director General of the National Library of Pakistan, also took the opportunity to deliver a speech, contributing valuable insights and perspectives to the event. His address likely enriched the occasion by emphasizing the importance of historical and literary commemorations in preserving the collective memory and identity of the nation.

The exhibition was specially arranged to commemorate ‘Defence Day’, featuring books related to Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam, Pakistan’s culture, national heroes, and the armed forces, displayed for the benefit of the readers. Furthermore, the exhibition included the display of old newspapers from September 1965, aimed at acquainting the younger generation with the events of that time. This Book Exhibition is an excellent endeavor by the National Library of Pakistan and is scheduled to continue until 13th September 2024.
