Tel Aviv, The Gulf Observer: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to regain control of Gaza’s border with Egypt, intensifying Israel’s stance on the besieged enclave as the Palestinian death toll surpasses 21,670. Netanyahu, describing the conflict as at its peak, cited the need for Israeli control over the Philadelphi Corridor buffer zone along Gaza’s border with Egypt.

He emphasized the necessity of closure, asserting that alternative arrangements would not ensure the demilitarization objectives sought by Israel. This announcement comes amid heightened tensions and ongoing hostilities in the region since October 7, marked by actions involving the Palestinian resistance group Hamas and its allies.
