Oman Air Announces New Direct Flights Between Muscat and Rome

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman Air has unveiled its most significant new route in five years, announcing the launch of direct flights between Muscat and Rome, starting 20 December 2024. The airline will operate four weekly flights, marking the first-ever direct connection between the Omani capital and the Italian capital, offering greater connectivity to its expansive network across the Far East, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the Indian Subcontinent, and beyond.
With one-way fares starting as low as EUR 150, Oman Air’s new route provides an affordable opportunity to explore new destinations while enjoying the airline’s renowned award-winning service and signature Omani hospitality.
“This new direct service between Rome and Muscat is a major milestone in our growth strategy,” said Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air. “Rome marks our second destination in Italy, following Milan, and this key route further strengthens our presence in Europe. It is also part of our strategy to maximize the use of our narrow-body fleet. We are excited to introduce Muscat’s beauty to a new market while providing seamless access to destinations beyond.”
Oman Air will operate flights between Rome and Muscat on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The outbound flight will depart from Rome at 20:30, arriving in Muscat at 05:45 the following day. The return flight will leave Muscat at 15:00, landing in Rome at 19:30.
From its hub in Muscat, Oman Air offers connections to popular destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, and Manila, enhancing convenience and accessibility for travelers.
