Oman Equestrian Federation to organise endurance competition
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: With the participation of 20 horses from various wilayats in Dhofar Governorate, a qualifying endurance competition will be held today, February 18, 2023 on the shore of Khor Al Dahariz.
“Tomorrow, the Oman Equestrian Federation, in cooperation with the Dhofar Equestrian Committee, will organise a qualifying endurance competition for a distance of 40 km on the shore of Khor Al Dahariz, with the participation of 20 horses from the wilayats of Dhofar Governorate, ” Oman News Agency (ONA) said.
This race comes within the federation’s schedule for this season 2022/2023 in order to qualify the largest number of horses and include them in international races. The start of the competition will precede the veterinary examination of the horses to ensure their readiness.
The competition includes one stage for a distance of 40 km, and the minimum speed will be 12 km per hour, the maximum speed will be 16 km per hour, and the maximum heart rate will be 56 beats per minute. The age of the horse is five years and above.
