Oman

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman participated as an observer in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, held in Washington at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.

Oman’s delegation was headed by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who represented the Sultanate during the high-level discussions in the US capital.

The meeting brought together a number of heads of state, heads of government, and senior officials from member countries, in addition to representatives of invited nations attending in observer capacity. Participants reviewed the general vision guiding the Board’s mandate and discussed its action plan for the coming phase, with particular emphasis on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Several participating states announced voluntary financial and in-kind contributions aimed at supporting humanitarian recovery initiatives and facilitating the safe restoration of normal life for the population in Gaza.

Oman’s participation reflects its consistent foreign policy approach of supporting peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomacy. The Sultanate reaffirmed its commitment to upholding international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, advocating the right to self-determination and the two-state solution.

Muscat continues to call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, viewing this as essential to achieving sustainable security, stability, and lasting peace for all peoples of the region.
